IAB Canada Elects Dawna Henderson Of henderson bas As New Board Chair
TORONTO, ON. December 15, 2009 - IAB Canada today announced that Dawna Henderson, President & CEO of elite digital advertising agency henderson bas, will serve as IAB Canada's new Chairman of the Board, beginning Jan. 1, 2010.
Henderson brings 25 years of creative and business expertise to the helm of the IAB Board (including 17 years within the Interactive advertising industry), and has long been considered an industry pioneer, having founded one of Canada's first digital marketing agencies. Her innovative thinking and deep understanding of the full breadth of Interactive mediums has attracted an extensive blue-chip list of clients including Coca-Cola Ltd., ING Direct, Joe Fresh, Molson Canadian, Capital One, eBay, Mercedes-Benz, Nike and Levis Strauss & Co.
She has been an active and leading member of IAB Canada since its inception in 1997, and will continue to serve as the head of IAB Canada's Agency Council, where she has led significant industry change: including updates to the Canadian Universal Ad Package (CUAP) and creation of the Late Creative and Terms & Conditions Policies.
Henderson also helped negotiate the launch of IAB Canada's initial Certificate in Interactive Marketing + Online Advertising in partnership with York University in the Fall of 2004. The 6-week Course was later transformed into the soley-owned and operated IAB Canada Intensive One-Day Course in Interactive Marketing + Online Advertising that continues to this day. She also contributed to the creation of IAB Canada's MIXX Canada Conference Series, which includes a coast-to-coast Interactive Case-Study Roadshow in the Fall of each year, and a twice-annual Conference where global experts share best practices and emerging trends from within the Interactive marketing industry.
"The election of IAB Canada's first Agency-based Chairman solidifies IAB Canada's commitment to organize itself in a tri-partite manner; ensuring that all players within the Interactive media ecosystem -- Publishers, Agencies, Advertisers and Service Associates -- are able to have a significant role in shaping the industry," says Paula Gignac, President of IAB Canada.
"And, based on her already substantial contributions to both the industry and IAB Canada over the past 10 years, I believe Dawna Henderson will follow in the footsteps of the best Chairs of IAB Canada, by working with the rest of the IAB Board and Membership to catapult both the industry and IAB Canada forward, in very significant and positive ways in the years to come."
IAB Canada will announce its final line-up of Board Members in January 2010.
