IAB Interactive Marketing Certificate
Register Now to Keep Up With the Evolution of the Interactive Channel

TORONTO, Aug. 18 - The Interactive Advertising Bureau of Canada (IAB) is pleased to announce the September 7, 2005 and January 2006 offerings of a Certificate in Interactive Marketing and Online Advertising in conjunction with the Division of Continuing Education, Atkinson Faculty of Liberal and Professional Studies, York University.

Now in its second successful year, the program is offered at a downtown Toronto location, includes 84 hours of classroom instruction and attracts participants ranging from brand and account service managers to online publishers and online media buyers.

"The popularity of the program reflects the demand for even seasoned marketing and advertising professionals to keep up with the constant evolution of the interactive medium," says Paula Gignac, executive director of the IAB and the program's lead instructor.

The Certificate in Interactive Marketing and Online Advertising is tailored for those interested in utilizing interactive marketing strategies and the power of the Internet to promote products, services and/or businesses.

The program covers all elements of interactive marketing and advertising, including updates on the most recent market and user trends, as well as detailed explorations into areas such as display, email, search and mobile marketing. The final element of the course sees participants develop a full online marketing and media plan for a product, service or business using the interactive strategies they have learned.

SympaticoMSN recently hired Gregg Locke, a consulting professional who took the course. "The program is very current to the Canadian online environment," says Locke. "The instructor's data is extensive, widely-sourced and up-to-date. I am positive that employers, both on the client as well as agency sides, will see this as a distinguishing asset."

The program will also be of interest to recent graduates of "traditional" advertising and marketing degrees or diploma programs which may not have included or fully explored interactive channels within the curriculum.

Next CIMOA offering: September 7, 2005
Classroom location: Globe and Mail Building, Toronto
Tuition: $2,995
