Mission Our History
IAB Canada (Internet Advertising Bureau) provides Internet publishers, advertisers, agencies and others who are committed to being Internet marketing and advertising advocates, the opportunity to form a collective voice. 

IAB Canada is the sole Canadian organization fully dedicated to the development and support of interactive advertising. 

In order to increase online traffic and the effectiveness of online advertising, IAB Canada has focused on marketing and advertising excellence by establishing structure and standards.

Since IAB Canada's creation in December of 1997, the industry now has a collective voice and a representative body.

In order to increase online traffic and the effectiveness of online advertising, IAB Canada will:

  • Act as the collective voice of companies buying and selling advertising in interactive media,
  • Continue to provide semi-annual surveys to measure the size of the Internet advertising industry,
  • Take the lead role in provide members with a forum for evaluating and shaping the direction of the Internet advertising industry in Canada, through the hosting of Town Hall meetings, professional development seminars and industry conferences,
  • Lead the introduction of standards and guidelines relevant to interactive marketing,
  • Provide an industry-wide view of key developments in interactive media,
  • Promote the value and effectiveness of Internet advertising to the Canadian marketplace,
  • Serve as an educational resource through which members can further their Internet knowledge and gain a competitive edge in the marketplace.

 

 

One of IAB Canada's services in support of the Internet advertising industry is the Guide To Internet Advertising in partnership with The Media Book.  This guide provides advertisers with a comprehensive guide to Internet advertising, and serves as a critical tool in both the planning and buying of online media and the establishment of performance benchmarks.

IAB Canada has taken the lead in offering a valuable venue for the discussion of Internet advertising, through the hosting of an annual conference in co-operation with Marketing magazine. The 2001 conference will take place in November in Toronto.
